I recently read a book called "Angels and Demons" written by Dan Brown. It is a fantastic novel and kept me gripped the whole time. It is a science fiction based book. The book was also released as a movie in 2009 starring Tom Hanks as the lead role. Here is my review of the book.
The story takes place in modern day vatican city. The protagonist, Robert Langdon who is a Symbologist from Harvard is summoned by CERN in Switzerland to investigate the case of a missing weapon. This weapon is no ordinary weapon. It is called Antimatter. It has the potential to wipe out an entire city if it comes in contact with anything around it. Robert then joins forces with Vittoria Vetra, who is a nuclear physicist at CERN and who is also the one who is responsible for creating Antimatter.
Meanwhile, there had been a long battle for centuries between the vatican and an ancient secret organization, the Illuminati. Its goal is to destroy the Vatican, kill the pope and eliminate christianity in the world. The Antimatter is stolen by the Illuminati and is hidden somewhere inside the city of Rome. This takes Robert on an epic journey with several twists and turns to stop the Antimatter from detonating, and killing thousands of people including the pope and the cardinals of the church in vatican city.
The movie, however; was quite boring and left me unsatisfied.
Here is the trailer of the movie in case you have not watched it yet.
